Representatives Lahti Meetings- Approved Vern Christensen, Sarah, Donna Dixon, Helly Visser and Roger Davies, as the 3 Canadian delegates and alternates for the WMA General Assembly and the NCCWMA meeting in Lahti. Membership- Currently 814 members, 650 in Ontario. There are 261 women members and 553 men. Will continue to accept multi-year and family memberships from outside Ontario in 2010. Financial Report- The following balances were reported at May 31: $23,407.75 Canadian, $1,627.99 US, and $20,482.75 Canadian Money Market. In the month of May, we received $5,975.00 in membership fees and $13,160.26 in entry fees and $1,925.00 in team fees for Lahti; and paid re Lahti: the team managers subsidy of $1,500.00, entry processing costs of $500.00 and an expense advance of $400.00, and also paid $956.67 for Marathon and Half Marathon medals. As well, a membership payment of $5,625.00 from the OMA had bounced. After May 31, we paid the Lahti entry fees of $12,379.30, received payment from Ottawa for the Marathon/Half Marathon medals, and received another payment of $5,625.00 from the OMA, which also bounced. The OMA now owes the CMAA almost $8,000.00. Communications- The Record Book is still being worked on. The Outdoor, Indoor and Racewalking records have been updated on the web site, together with the Art Keay Racewalking results. Provincial Directors Reports- Ontario: The OMA report commented on the membership numbers; their Outdoor Track & Field Championship; dividing equipment between the CMAA and the OMA; and the proposal for all Canadian Masters to become members of the CMAA. Alberta: An oral report on behalf of Donna Dixon referred to their Provincial Track & Field Championships in Edmonton on July 4-5. A small group from Alberta is going to Lahti. Saskatchewan: Carol LaFayette-Boyds report provided results of a meet in Regina on June 13-14; and information on their Provincial Track & Field Championships in Saskatoon on July 26. British Columbia- Harold Moriokas written report dealt with the Vancouver Sun Run; the BC Masters Track & Field Championships in Nanaimo on May 23-24; Track & Field records set in 2009 by BC athletes; and information about Kamloops. Records- The following new records were presented and approved: 4 Road Bests; and 2 Indoor Throws records. The Provincial Championship Record Form is sometimes being used incorrectly, as events are being called Provincial Championships which dont qualify as such, and we will be more strict on its use in the future. Product Sales- We have spent $2,104.38 on new singlets, T-shirts and screening, and we have had sales of $1,396.00 so far. Equipment- Re equipment purchased with the OMA, it was reported that we will each take one when there are duplicates, otherwise we will take them and pay the OMA half of the replacement cost. We have purchased a 2Kg discus, and will come up with a list of other equipment that should be purchased. Non-Stadia- John Powell presented a written report, referring to the results of the Marathon and Half Marathon; the possible change in the location of the 10K Road Race because of the change in the AC 10K race; the Farquharson Relay on October 18th; and the Cross Country Championships in Guelph on November 28th. Stadia- The entries for Kamloops are very low at this point. It will be suggested that the distance races start early in the morning on Sunday, to get the 5000m away from the afternoon. For 2010, a suggested agreement and prerequisites will be provided to the OMA. WMA/NCCWMA- Because of the strength of the Canadian dollar, the Canadian team for Lahti has overpaid for their entry fees. It was agreed that 7% would be credited to each team member, rounded to the nearest 5 Euros each, to be refunded in cash in Lahti, less 5 Euros each retained to go toward the cost of the team party. Athletics Canada- John Powell presented a written report from the AC AGM. There were changes in the AC Chair, and in the Board. The AC definition of Masters was amended to coincide with those of the IAAF and the WMA. The Masters Committee proposal will be provided to the CMAA. CMAA Hall of Fame- A report and recommendations had been presented by the Chair of the Hall of Fame Committee, Diane Palmason. Agreed to the following appointments as Athletes: Jean Horne, Roger Ruth, Whitey Sheridan, Ed Whitlock, Earl Fee, Olga Kotelko and Howard West; and the appointment of Brian Oxley as an Executive. The presentations will be made at the Athletic Banquet in Kamloops. 2008 Athletes of the Year- The voting for the 2008 Athletes of the Year will take place by email, with the intention to make the presentations at the Kamloops Athletic Banquet.
