Latest Update: Mar 6, 2007
We currently maintain lists of records for Outdoor
Track &
Field, Indoor
Track & Field and Racewalks, and "bests" for Road Racing. These
records
are maintained, on behalf of the CMAA, by volunteer "Records Chairs".
Each
list of records can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate item on
the
above white navigation bar.
Because of differing requirements for acceptance
of records, we have developed forms of Record Applications which are
specific to various
disciplines - Track, Field, Throws, Racewalks, etc. These Application
Forms,
in pdf format, can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate item in
the list of Application Forms below. Because of the large number of
World Records being set by Canadians, the WMA World Track and Field
Record Application form is also included.
All of the records listed here are Canadian
records, which have been ratified by the CMAA. To be ratified, such
records may be set anywhere in the World, but must be set by Canadian
citizens, or by other persons who are and have been full-time residents
of Canada for at least two years. There are many other rules pertaining
to the setting of these records. These rules have the general aim of
protecting the existing holders of records - in other words, to ensure
that records are changed only with appropriate controls. The more
significant of these rules, including some rules pertaining to the
setting of World Records, are outlined below under "Rules for Setting
Masters Athletics Records". No open masters records are maintained by
the CMAA.
